![]() The main distinction is that kernel processes are more potent than daemon processes which run in user space because they have complete admittance to kernel data structures. They resemble daemon processes in many ways. Only kernel space is where kernel processes run. An ordinary user process does not have special admittance to the computer processor as well as to system files that do not belong to the user who began the process unless it is operated in a manner that grants the process specific permissions.
